On January 12, 2010, a magnitude 7 earthquake shattered the lives of thousands of people living in and around Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Hundreds of people are now homeless due to the complete destruction of their homes, or because their homes are damaged and unsafe to enter. As a result, they are now living in the streets. So far, we have filled 3 box trucks with donations from our local community. The trucks were driven to Florida and loaded on ships bound for Haiti. Currently, a group of local men are in Haiti, working to distribute the donations and working with the local relief organizers. At this point, the best way to support the relief effort is with monetary donations that will help cover the costs of shipping the trucks. Because our mission is staffed completely with volunteers, 100% of the funds will be directed to the relief fund.
